TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA
- Trigeminal Neuralgia, is a Neuropathic Hemifacial pain condition. This is the most Painful disorder known to Medicine and often results in Depression.
- This causes attacks of sharp stabbing pain in the cheek, around eye or lower face that lasts for few seconds to minutes usually on one side of the face. These pain attacks are usually aggravated by touching the face, chewing, talking, brushing the teeth or exposure of cold air on face.
- This clinical diagnosis can be confirmed by MRI scan.
- The treatment options include Microvascular decompression, Radiofrequency ablation and stereotactic radiosurgery.
