PIRIFORMIS SYNDROME

• Piriformis Syndrome is a mysterious pain condition which is an Entrapment Neuropathy caused by muscle inflammation. This can cause Pain or numbness in buttocks and down the back of the Leg usually on one side.
• This is seen in runners, sprinters and males who sit with their wallets in back pocket. This condition resembles sciatica but can be differentiated by diagnostic blocks done by pain doctors.
• Treatment is non-surgical ultrasound or fluoroscopic guided glucocorticoid and botulinum injections or PRF.
